I've consistently sought to learn about systems of power and privilege, inequity and inequality, in large global scale contexts and in our everyday human interactions - and how all of these intersect and dance together in the complex, beautiful and hard layers of life we experience. I work hard to continuously unlearn oppressive ways of being that we grow up internalizing. I'm committed to this deeply reflexive and accountable work personally as a way of life and my professional practice is part of that. I strive to co-create a therapeutic relationship and space that centers a person and where they are at with my utmost integrity, ethics and wholehearted presence, alongside skill and care.
I am a queer, cis, poc (she/her). I am a caste-privileged, immigrant settler on this colonized land and within systems that continue to perpetuate systemic harm and ongoing genocide to indigenous people. I dream of a decolonial, anti-capitalist, anti-exploitative and anti-oppressive world where everyone has the means and support to take care of themselves, each other and creatively thrive in liberation. In the meantime, I muddle through, trying to disrupt systems of harm and create and live in systems of care as best as I can, as I learn and work towards that which I dream of.
I am sex/kink positive, body positive/neutral, 2SLGBTQQIA+ affirming, and work with folks who non-monogamous and monogamous. I work from an anti-oppressive, anti-black racism, decolonial, feminist and systems perspectives I am trauma informed and trained, and practice from an attachment lens.
Alongside talk therapy, I provide psychotherapy with a focus in:
- Parts Work - Structural Dissociation and Internal Family Systems IFS - EMDR - Eye Motion Desensitizing Reprocessing - DBR - Deep Brain Re-Orienting
Combined with talk therapy, these modalities help people move beyond managing their day to day experiences towards resolving past undigested content - so that they have less to manage.

I am a Venezuelan-Canadian queer woman of colour with lived experience of migration and I offer services in Spanish and English. I work from an evolving feminist, anti-oppression, sex-positive and poly-affirming framework. Gently and bravely understanding and unpacking the impacts of systemic and colonial structures on the constructs of identity and mental health is crucial for the work that we will do together.
Creativity, curiosity and compassionate care are at the core of my practice. When journeying through difficult experiences, art becomes a powerful friend for the courageous path of healing and transformation. You do not need to be an artist to be in sessions with me. I deeply believe that the arts can be a portal through which a personal metamorphosis can be facilitated.
My primary modality is Expressive Arts Therapy, which is informed by more than twenty years of community arts and professional dance practice. I integrate somatic and emotionally focused therapies as core frameworks in my practice, and I embrace all art modalities into the therapeutic space. My passion lies in working with women, families and children fleeing interpersonal violence; queer communities navigating identity and exclusion; harm-reduction/substance use; and immigrant populations navigating settlement processes. My practice is trauma-centered and rooted in the fundamentals of the client being the expert of their lived experiences.

Tasha Nadia Matar (she/her) is a queer, mixed Polish-Palestinian, Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying), Art Psychotherapy Candidate, and Registered Social Worker who dances between both worlds of mixed-race experiences, neurodivergence, diasporic belonging/un-belonging, and the bridges of personal to systemic issues.
She seeks to support clients to find the liminal space between to feel safer in their minds, souls and bodies. She uses eclectic modalities such as dialectical behavioral therapy, internal family systems, and sensorimotor therapy woven with play and art-based therapy to create a space where clients are able to imagine different possibilities, and futures of personal and collective liberation.
Tasha is an experienced trauma therapist that brings her experience working with newcomers both in groups and 1:1 for over a decade. Through her personal experience as a child of immigrants and her experience working with survivors of political trauma and refugees, she has witnessed play be muted due to the need to survive. This is universal to anyone who has had adverse experiences that taught them to grow up fast, including complex childhood trauma. Her clients tend to be old souls with immense wisdom that had to grow up too quick due to trauma, and are seeking to reconnect with the wisdom of their childhood self.
Tasha believes that play and creativity are vital sources of wisdom that help adults find freedom, and is always accessible to us despite circumstances. Tasha’s practice is open for new clients and sliding scale spots are available. If some of these words have peaked your curiosity, Tasha offers free 15 minute consultations for you to sense into the therapeutic journey.

I'm a queer cis-femme settler relational therapist, and strive to offer a trauma-informed approach, collaborating with clients on how they best feel supported. I draw on relational and feminist psychodynamic therapy that recognizes how our identities, ways of being with others, strategies of survival are shaped by state and social forces, systemic oppression and past wounds. I work from a ENM/poly, queer, enby/trans, neurodivergent, kink, sex work, harm reduction and fat liberationist informed lens. I recognize that colonialist/traditional therapy spaces have often failed to recognize how social injustices shape our access and framing of mental health, and strive to offer an affirming space that encompases a holistic understanding of the socio-political context of our collective wellness. We are collaborators in the therapy space. You're standing from a whole different vantage point, and I want to get to know what you see.

I am a queer identified Registered Social Worker, Psychotherapist. I have over 20 years of experience and specialize in addiction and substance use issues, trauma, anxiety and grief. My practice provides deep healing where we get to the roots of these issues. Instead of simply focussing on symptom management, we process and heal what is causing problematic substance use, anxiety and trauma responses in the first place. Your priorities and needs will drive how we design your path to healing. You get to co-create your therapy goal plan with me and together we decide how to make your goals achievable. For folks looking to have psychotherapy for reduced substance use, tapering and safer substance use, I do provide this. I use a mix of therapy methods to best match your needs and I also provide Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) to individuals who want to access this specialized treatment approach for panic attacks, social anxiety and certain forms of OCD.

Statement of Settlerhood / Land Acknowledgement
The devastating impacts of European colonization and Western imperialism pushed my parents to migrate decades ago from their homeland of Lebanon to Turtle Island, in search of "peace" and "stability".
My family's presence here is not accidental, neutral, forced, or without profound impact on the people and wildlife it has displaced.
We are settlers.
I was born and raised on land that was violently stolen from its original stewards: the Mississaugas of the Credit, the Anishnaabe, the Chippewa, the Haudenosaunee, and the Wendat peoples.
I continue to live, work and raise children on this land, teaching them about our responsibilities and the implications of our presence here.
I turn to community and elders to learn about these, and what it means to decolonize, as a settler benefiting from a fee-based vocation on stolen land.
My decolonizing praxis is an imperfect one that wrestles every day with colonial entanglements and the many traps and seductions of capitalism.
Rather than promise you a 'decolonized' service, I offer you an acknowledgement of where I'm at today:
On an ongoing journey of unlearning, relearning, reflecting, acting, seeking to know better, trying again, stumbling, failing, reflecting, relearing ....... and so on. It is flawed, and it most definitely welcomes feedback.
This is the path I walk towards a desired Right Relationship with this land, water, and the Indigenous peoples of Turtle Island –
my cross-continental cousins and hosts in this lifetime.
