Using an eclectic/integrated approach, Ari pulls from a variety of client-centred therapeutic approaches, such as Humanistic, Solution-Focused, Experiential/Gestalt, Cognitive Behavioural, Psychodynamic and Narrative modalities.

I am a cis gendered, heterosexual male with a physical disability. I am currently enrolled in the final internship stage of my Masters in Counselling Psychology degree at Yorkville University.

My skill of connecting with almost any type of person in an empathic and judgment-free way makes counselling a great fit for me. This style of interaction makes me highly approachable and ever ready to facilitate personal growth with anyone who is interested and willing.

I am open to engaging with adults presenting with a broad array of mental health concerns including anxiety, stress, depression, low motivation, trauma, and struggles relating to identity and life-purpose. I also have intimate knowledge of the mental health issues surrounding disability, chronic illness, and chronic pain.

A referral from a health care provider who is licensed to practice in Ontario is required. This can be a family doctor, nurse practitioner, naturopath, chiropractor, massage therapist or any other licensed health professional.

I use the pronouns He/They and identify as trans masculine. I am white identifying.  I see all folks, but predominantly most of the clients are seeking support for gender and/or sexuality.  I work in a anti-o, trauma informed, feminist, body positive, sex positive harm reduction client centered approached.

I do utilize different modalities, CBT, Narrative, Inner child, solution focused and talk therapy. I have increased focus on those exploring and identifying as trans, which includes resource finding, secondary assessment for gender affirming surgeries and surgery readiness letters.  I’m a queer, femme, New Zealand-born settler. I provide in-culture, trauma-informed therapy to neurodivergent folks of all genders. People work with me to process their lived experiences of autism, ADHD, anxiety disorders, and more. My healing-centred approach creates space to safely unmask and explore your authentic self.

Clinically, I draw from acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioural therapy (DBT), internal family systems therapy (IFS), and narrative therapy.

As a birth and adoptive parent, I have a special interest in working with members of kinship constellations and other non-normative family systems.

I take a non-pathologizing, non-judgmental, holistic approach to sexuality that incorporates an understanding of how our sexuality is shaped by the relationship between socio-political context, culture, identities, mind, body, and spirituality. I believe sexuality in all its forms are legitimate and positive (including all forms of asexuality) when practiced in a compassionate, caring, consensual environment. My practice emphasizes play and curiosity as antidotes to sexual shame and frustration. I've worked with people on sexual communication, sexual shame, desire dispairty (differences in sexual desire in relationships), neurodivergence and sexuality, childhood sexual abuse, Persistant Genital Arousal Disorder, Vaginismus/Vulvadynia, sex after birth, sex after gender affirming surgery, sexual compulsions/addictions, exploring kink and/or polyamory, sex and chronic pain, and I am open to expanding my experience and knowledge with other sexuality topics.

I work with adults (18+) who are facing life transitions, in the many definitions of the term: through identity, family/chosen family structures, friendships, and death, to name a few. I’m trained in psycho-spiritual therapy, which really just means that I aim to connect lived experiences with body, mind, and spirit, as it is relevant for you. My work centers around strengths-based, trauma-informed, and anti-oppression frameworks. I use a blend of interventions individualized for each client, but I tend to lean heavily on elements of Internal Family Systems, mindfulness & experiential techniques, and relational therapies. Being in a body can be complicated, and it’s my intention to work with clients to co-create a relationship that makes it feel safe enough to explore all facets of their identity.

Some of the ‘intersections’ that I work from include: autistic, queer, disabled, european and acadian ancestry, polyam, kink and BDSM, body autonomy, and sex work positive.
